Pap’s corps is a local cancer research society foundation that raises money in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties raising money to donate to the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer center at the University of Miami. Pap’s Corps is run by hundreds of volunteers through the South Florida area, and donations are made by both businesses and people to help fund cancer research.
PBGYAA Soccer is the Palm Beach Gardens Soccer Program that encompasses recreation, travel and the special needs TOPSoccer program. The league has grown to see almost 1000 players in both their Spring and Fall soccer programs.
Toys for Tots is a non-profit organization run by the Marine Corp in which they raise both money and have annual toy drives around the holidays so that they can donate toys to less fortunate children in need and make the holidays special for everyone. The Toys for Tots goal is to “deliver a message of hope” to underprivileged children.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization has been around for more than 100 years pairing adult volunteers with children in communities all around the country to develop positive relationships. Through positive relationships they believe that children will have higher aspirations, gain more confidence and stay out of trouble. Their mission is to see “all children achieve success in life.” They mainly pair children who are faced with adversity with someone to mentor them along the way and change their life for the better.
The Boys and Girls Club is an organization that spans America with the mission of “enabling youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.” The Boys and Girls Club provides a safe place to learn and grow; gives young less fortunate people hope and opportunity and has life enhancing programs including character development experiences.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing ministry that believes every man women and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Habitat for Humanity builds and repairs houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations.
Seeds of Peace has set the standard in international peace-building by providing exceptional young people and educators from regions of conflict with an otherwise impossible opportunity to meet their historic enemies face-to-face. They focus on building extra-ordinary and critical relationships and understanding through local programs that focus on core leadership capacities needed to advance peace.
Alzheimer’s Family Center Inc.
A center dedicated to “improving the lives of families affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and other memory disorders.”
The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now—to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. MS stops people from moving, and the society exists to make sure it doesn’t. The society pushes research, reaches out to individuals and families living with MS.
Bethesda Hospital Foundation
The Bethesda Hospital Foundation is committed to raising awareness and raising funds to provide world-class healthcare in our community. Our challenge is to sustain our highly recognized Centers of Excellence, provide the latest technology and advanced medical treatments, improve patient care and support clinical and nursing staff.
Susan G. Komen is the boldest community fueling the best science and making the biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. Susan G. Komen has invested almost $2 billion to fulfill their promise to end breast cancer throughout the world. Susan G. Komen has helped millions of cancer patients into survivors and has changed the way people throughout the world see the disease.
The American Cancer Society has been leading the way for 100 years to transform cancer from deadly to preventable. The ACS has a number of events including Relay for Life to raise money and help promote cancer awareness, as well as to raise money for cancer research and prevention.
B&B Against Cancer
Boobs and Balls against Cancer is an Annual Charity Golf Tournament that is hosted to raise money for both prostate and breast cancer. Through 3 years $94,000 has been donated to breast cancer, and prostate cancer research foundations.
Dunn’s Run is a 5k Walk & Run which benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. The Dunn’s Run has earned a reputation of the race that signifies the beginning of running season thus drawing in over 2,000 participants. “Because you care, our kids have a chance at life.”
Freedom Fighter Outdoors strives to show their gratitude to the nation’s injured service veterans and their families for their sacrifices. By providing unique, once in a lifetime outdoor activities to honor and empower our nations injured service veterans, Freedom Fighter Outdoors hope to raise awareness and provide aid to our injured heroes.
The Saint Ambrose Carnival is a carnival hosted by St. Ambrose church, in which all proceeds go to benefiting the St. Ambrose School. It is a local event and church here in Deerfield Beach.
Palm Beach Habilitation Center
The Palm Beach Habilitation Center is dedicated to helping adults with developmental, emotional, and physical disabilities achieve their greatest level of independence. The PBHC has been selected as a beneficiary of Tee Up For Disabilities. Save the date! Monday, October 27, 2014 at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.
Zion Lutheran School
In conjunction with Zion School’s 50th Anniversary, Zion will be holding its Third Annual Pastor’s Masters Golf tournament on Saturday, September 13th, 2014. This year’s event once again benefits Zion School Scholarships and promises to be better than ever.
Founder’s Day of Deerfield Beach
Founder’s Day of Deerfield beach is a local community event run by people who raise money through sponsors to have a festival President’s Day weekend. Through volunteer support they are able to put on a community event for Deerfield Beach where they raise money for local charities, schools and youth groups.
Lighthouse Point Keeper Days
Lighthouse Point Keeper Days is an event put on by the city to honor its “Keepers.” It is a weekend to celebrate the hometown heroes of Lighthouse Point. Keeper Days starts with a dinner on Friday night, leading to Saturday’s music, parade, fireworks, and shows, and concluding with Sunday’s family fun day at Frank McDonough park.
Lighthouse Point Winterfest
The Winterfest is a local event where boats from all over South Florida get together and decorate their boats with lights and make them look unique and compete in the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest boat parade. The boats start in Santa Barbra Lake, come down through Lighthouse Point and end in Deerfield Island Park. It is a great show and free to see for all those who like seeing an awesome boat parade.
A local community event hosted at Frank McDonough Park, which is a holiday gathering for all families. It is a kick start to the Holiday season with families and Friends.
