Broward County has adopted new local amendments to the Florida Fire Prevention Code requirements.

Broward County’s local amendments to the Florida Fire Prevention Code apply to all new and existing buildings. The buildings have a maximum of eighteen (18) months from April 24, 2022, to comply with the new ordinances.

The new amendments apply to all incorporated and unincorporated areas in Broward County. Violations of the Florida Fire Prevention Code could result in fines and in some cases, criminal penalties.
