Campbell Property Management is pleased to offer on-demand board certification courses for condominium and HOA board members. These courses were created to make board education more accessible for directors who want to complete certification training on their own schedule.
Choose the Right Board Certification Course
Because condominium and homeowners association boards operate under different statutory frameworks, board members should select the course that matches the type of community they serve. Campbell offers separate on-demand options for condominium board members and HOA board members.
What Are the Certification Requirements for Condo and HOA Board Members?
Florida condominium and HOA board members have different certification requirements depending on the type of community they serve and when they were elected or appointed.
Condo Board Member Certification Requirements:
Newly elected or appointed condominium board members must complete a 4-hour certification course within 90 days of their election or appointment. Certification remains valid for seven years as long as the director serves continuously.

HOA Board Member Certification Requirements:
Newly elected or appointed HOA board members must complete a certification course within 90 days of their election or appointment. HOA certification remains valid for four years during continuous board service.

Condo & HOA Board Member Continuing Education Requirements
Annual Education for Condominium Board Members:
Condominium directors must complete one hour of legal continuing education each year. This annual requirement is separate from the initial board certification course.
Annual Education for HOA Board Members:
The annual education requirement for HOA directors depends on community size. Board members serving associations with fewer than 2,500 parcels must complete four hours annually, while directors serving associations with 2,500 parcels or more must complete eight hours each year.
